The post for which you are applying is exempt from the provisions of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act, 1974. You must disclose any criminal convictions, bind over orders, cautions or charges pending, whether current or ‘spent’. (Rehabilitation of Offenders Act, 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975), unless they are filtered in line with current guidance. Amendments to the Exceptions Order 1975 (2013) provide that certain ‘spent’ convictions and cautions are 'protected' and are not subject to disclosure to employers.
